Geometric released Nestlib 2009 R1, which features multi-core computing support that reduces nesting time by up to 40 per cent on dual core and up to 70 per cent on quad core computers.

The nesting algorithms have been parallelised to take advantage of multiple processors available in multi-core machines.

It features an inclined guillotine cut feature that makes it possible to have end-to-end inclined guillotine cuts for non-rectangular parts.

Parts and sheets of different materials and thickness can be added to the same nesting order.

Nestlib will automatically select and nest parts with relevant thickness and material on the corresponding sheets.

This feature is also supported with the Optimizer module for improved yield.

Nestlib libraries now support Microsoft Visual Studio 2008.

The Nestlib portfolio consists of a base module and a set of optional advanced modules for specialised functionalities, including: shear nesting module for saw parts requiring end-to-end cutting; common punch module for parts to be cut using punching machines; leather nesting module for leather parts with different quality patterns; remnant generation module for automatic remnant creation after nesting; tube nesting module for tube and pipe cutting; common cut module for nesting adjacent parts such that they share a common flame path.

Nestlib is available as a static library, dynamic linked library (DLL), and COM DLL.

It also supports Java and .NET framework.

Nestlib is available for 32-bit and 64-bit Microsoft Windows OS as well as for Sun Solaris and Linux platforms.

It can be ported to Mac OS on demand.
