Werma Catalogue 2014 - .PDF file.

WERMA is offering a simple wireless monitoring system for machines, equipment and manual workstations that is quite different from traditional complex monitoring systems. Freedom from complexity has become the catchphrase associated with the system, which is called WIN (Wireless Information Network).

Ethernet Receiver unit

The wireless system is designed to be easy to install or even retrofit. Without the need for hard wiring and cabling, it is easy to monitor even remote areas.

A signal tower serves as the interface to which a transmitter unit is fitted — plug and play. This unit will then transmit status changes to a receiver. The status change data from all transmitters is collected safely and stored in SQL.

The new master/receiver is available as an option to the USB receiver unit and offers a simple advantage over the traditional receiver.

The traditional USB WIN master required a host PC for it to operate, which is not always convenient. If a customer wants to install the software on their server, this may be physically too remote from the slaves to get a reliable signal. In situations where the number of slaves is high or the site geography makes it impossible to get adequate coverage with one master, additional masters can be added but they have always required a PC. The new Ethernet master removes this need by connecting directly to the corporate network. It is identified on the network by IP address and can be physically sited anywhere with an Ethernet connection (and a mains socket for power). The software can be run on the server, avoiding the danger of someone unplugging the PC and users would all be connected as clients.

The user can have a mix of USB and Ethernet masters on the network so, for example, he or she could extend an installation to a machine shop in another building by adding an Ethernet master and hooking up the new slaves to it.

WERMA is the leading manufacturer of a wide range of Beacons and Sounders and accessories, often referred to as stack lights, signal towers and Andon systems. Products are designed and made at the HQ in Germany and the full range is available from its UK operation based in Wellingborough.

The range consists of signal towers and beacons available with both LEDs and filament bulbs together with a comprehensive range of sounders; sirens, buzzers and horns in a wide range of sound output levels.

Principal function is to provide optical and audible warning of machine fault or machine shop danger where such beacons and sounders are commonly installed.

Andon lights, as beacons are now commonly referred to, are often used as “call for action” systems to improve efficiency of for example line side supply of components. Manually operated lights alert remote departments wirelessly to resolve calls for action.

Many innovative features such as USB connectivity and wireless monitoring systems are also available.

There is also a comprehensive range of ex-proof signal products compliant with the latest ATEX directives.

The full range of products can be found on www.werma.co.uk where an Eshop facility is available for all major credit cards.

All WERMA products are manufactured to strictly controlled quality standards (DIN EN ISO 9001:2000).
