Newport has introduced the LAKIT series, a range of laser power alignment tuning kits that, utilising a 1917-R laser power meter and a wide selection of optical detectors, is designed for laser tuning and alignment in research applications.

Included within each kit is a detector, an optical power meter and the corresponding mounting assembly intended to simplify product selection and setup, while simultaneously reducing costs.  

The LAKIT tuning kits use three types of detector — silicon (Si), germanium (Ge) or thermopile — all operating in wavelength ranges from 200Nm to 10.6 microns, and up to 100W average power. 

Key features

  • The 918D series, for low-power lasers, operates in the visible or infrared (IR) spectrum
  • It also features an integrated OD3 attenuator to increase the measurement dynamic range
  • 818P series thermopile detectors, for high-power lasers, operates in both continuous-wave (CW) and pulsed modes
  • Broadband flat spectral response ranges from 0.19 to 11 microns
  • This has high damage threshold and high sensitivity to optical power
