Bowers Metrology has launched the advanced Nexus 3001 XLM-IMP fully automated hardness tester, which is designed to withstand harsh industrial environments. Suitable for use in demanding academic and research areas, the large-capacity tester is able to deliver price Brinell results and simultaneous conversions to Rockwell, Vickers, Brinell and Leeb rebound hardness.

The Nexus 3001 XLM-IMP can accept large components and features a loadcell, a closed-loop system, a motorised spindle and test loads from 30kgf to 3,000kgf. It also features a high-quality optical system with an automatic motorised rotating turret (indenter/objective positions).

In addition, the hardness tester incorporates a Brinell Impressions automatic video indent measuring system.

  • The tester’s 15in (38cm) touchscreen displays all tester settings, hardness values and, if required, in-depth statistical analysis.
  • Data and images can be stored on the PC and data can be exported via a bidirectional RS-232 output.
  • The Nexus 3001XLM-IMP is supplied with full installation and certification.
  • The tester can be supplied with a range of standard anvils, indenters and test blocks.
