Piab will launch its new suction cup, designed to improve the operational flexibility, speed and energy efficiency of packaging lines, at Pack Expo International 2010 from 31 October until 3 November.

Based on the company’s advanced vacuum technology, the suction cup can be tailored to handle a variety of products and to fit with a number of packaging machines, including robotic arms, rotary cartoners, labelling machines and carton erectors, whereas traditional grippers can only be used for a limited number of applications.

According to Piab, which will be found in Booth N-4620 at the event in Chicago, the cup also features an excellent suction grip and recycled materials.

The company will also showcase its new Piinline range of inline vacuum ejectors at Pack Expo International.

Based on Coax technology, the Piinline range offers good vacuum flow and enables the reliable gripping, lifting and moving of objects for reduced line downtime.

Piinline solutions are said to be more eco-friendly than single-stage ejectors, with the smallest model using 50 per cent less energy on average than comparable products.

Additional solutions on display at the event will include Piab’s vacuum conveying systems for powder and bulk materials that offer increased efficiency and productivity, as well as a variety of vacuum pumps and bag-handling suction cups for more secure gripping, improved process reliability and decreased downtime and waste.
