Pilz Automation Technology has updated its range of machinery-safety-related training courses, and has published a new booklet and course schedule for 2011.

As well as a training course introduced last year on the new Machinery Directive 2006/42/EC, the range of courses available includes one-, two- and four-day City and Guilds machinery safety courses; safety design incorporating ISO 13849/IEC 62061; CE marking and machinery regulations; and electrical machine safety in industrial installations.

Product-related training courses are also available for specific Pilz machinery safety products, including PSS programming; PSS/Safetybus programming; PSS service and troubleshooting; PSS/Safetybus service and troubleshooting; and a PNOZmulti basic training course.

All scheduled courses take place at Pilz’s training facilities in Corby, Northamptonshire, and additional training can be provided at the customer’s own premises.

Throughout the courses, Pilz trainers are able to address specific concerns and can customise training to meet individual customer requirements.

The four-day City and Guilds machinery safety course provides attendees with the knowledge that will help them to demonstrate a level of competency in machinery safety.

It is suitable for people who have responsibility for existing or new machinery, including maintenance engineers, engineering/project managers, design engineers and manufacturers.

Pilz also offers a two-day course aimed at managers and a one-day course for supervisors.

Both cover the application of EU regulations and standards for machinery safety, explaining the full extent of the responsibilities for managers and supervisors under the current legislation.
