Husqvarna ordered four Powersaver products from Sandretto UK at Interplas 08.

The Powersaver technology can be fitted to all makes of injection moulding machine.

It accurately follows user production cycles in terms of actual use and speed.

When coupled with different operating profiles, this allows an approach that only makes adjustments that have a net saving of the process consumption and minimises motor acceleration, especially when under load – a source of over-current and great component stress.

The approach saves on electricity bills and helps prolong the life of the electric motors, pumps, couplings and oil.

This makes the Powersaver especially attractive for injection moulders using fixed displacement systems.

Describing a previous order from Sandretto UK, Andrew Horner, maintenance engineer at the Husqvarna Newton Aycliffe site, said: ‘Working alongside Sandretto UK we installed a 110KW Powersaver unit on a Sandretto Series 8 – 550T machine.

‘The unit with the incorporated SEF 100 interface card greatly improved the process and with the extra HMI function we could easily change the parameters to suit the manufacturing process.

‘The further four units ordered at Interplas 08 will be installed before the end of the year.’ Sandretto UK is working with the Carbon Trust, which has recently upped its grant aid assistance to UK manufacturers.

Jeff Taylor of Sandretto UK said: ‘We have a key and growing role in helping match moulders to possible loans and grants provided by bodies such as the Carbon Trust.

‘We not only provide the technology but also guide the client in terms of handling the paperwork for loans and grants.’ Also available from Sandretto is the E1 control system, which links the customer’s machine over the internet to Sandretto’s service centre in Rugby.

From there, Sandretto can assist with the monitoring and analysis of production performance on the shop floor.
