‘Compact visible laser modules and NIR DFBs with high-speed modulation’ - .PDF file.

QD Laser is developing a range of visible laser diode modules designed for single-mode spectral operation in the one-micron wavelength band. The range is available through distributor AP Technologies and was discussed in a presentation given by QD Laser at Photonex 2012.

According to the company, these lasers offer quick start-up with excellent short- and long-term noise performance and can be directly modulated at up to 100MHz with stable single-frequency output.

Intended primarily as seed lasers in fibre laser systems, the NIR DFB laser is also suitable for sensing applications, a pulse source for light detecting and ranging, and a wavelength sweeper for spectral measurement.
