Norgren has launched an IP65-rated electronic pressure switch that is suitable for use in the pressure ranges -1 to 0 bar, -1 to 1 bar, 0 to 6 bar and 0 to 10 bar.

The 50D has two electric outputs with four output options: 2xPNP, 2xNPN, PNP+analogue and NPN+analogue – the analogue output with free programming (4 to 20mA or 0 to 10V).

The second output can be programmed as a diagnosis, allowing even faster error detection.

The 50D allows for rapid fault indication via its large colour display, which will change colour in the event of a fault, providing a visible malfunction signal that can be seen over a distance of several metres.

The 50D offers simple, intuitive operation using three large, ergonomically designed keys with defined pressure points.

All parameters are set via two menu levels – the first of which is used to set basic functions such as upper and lower switching points, while the second is used to define expanded functions, for example input filter, blocking code and time delays for switching the unit on and off.

The electronic lock via a freely selectable code prevents unintended or malicious changing of settings.

In addition, time-controlled access protection can be activated to prevent inadvertent mistakes in operation.

The display can be electronically rotated by 180deg, making it useful for upside-down installations.

For pneumatic connection, the 50D is equipped with a G 1/4in female thread – either on the back or the bottom of the housing, or with 4mm (5/32in) push-in fittings.

G 1/4in, G 1/8in, NPTF 1/4 and NPTF 1/8 can be implemented via a thread adapter, which is available as an accessory.

The pneumatic connection is both flexible and modular, and can be mounted directly onto a DIN rail profile using an integrated mounting clip or a wall-mounting kit.
