Prism Design is using the Easyjewel laser marker from Rofin-Baasel to offer an added-value jewellery personalisation service to customers. The laser marker has led to the development of high-contrast black marking on titanium pieces.

Prism Design specialises in titanium pieces such as bespoke-shaped wedding rings. It also produces pieces such as cufflinks, chains, bangles, earrings and pendants in platinum, palladium, gold and silver.

A business decision to change from the traditional model of design manufacture, display and sell to that of responding to individual customer requirements led to the need to produce more bespoke and personalised pieces.

The company selected the Easyjewel laser marker from Rofin-Baasel as it met both its immediate requirements and anticipated future needs.

Key benefits of product application

  • Using the laser, Prism Design can produce marks and inscriptions on any area of a ring: the outside surface, the inside surface and even on the narrow edge of the ring.
  • The laser can also produce graphics and images, as well as engrave over a larger area if required.
  • Barry Milburn from Prism Design said the ability to personalise any item using laser technology adds value to its service.
  • Easyjewel with Enhanced Mode has been specially configured for circumferential seamless designs and large components requiring homogeneous surfaces.
  • The majority of materials used in the jewellery industry, including precious metals, alloys, polymers and ceramics, can be processed.
