The panel-mounted E725 signal conditioner and display unit from RDP Electronics makes it possible to incorporate local display of transducer values from a variety of sources, including displacement, pressure, load and torque, into control panels.

Designed to be easy to use, the E725 not only displays values but can also deliver signals concerning transducer status to PLCs or other connected control devices.

It features signal conditioning for transducers, a five-digit display, fast peak and trough detection and limit trips shown by indicator lights.

The E725’s 4–20mA two-wire output can be connected to a suitable analogue input on a PLC, while also being able to provide serial communication via RS232 or RS485 with the controlling device.

The strength of the LVDT is in its principle of operation. As LVDT sensors are inductive, there is no electrical connection across the sensing element ensuring clean data and a long life.

The LVDT operation principle lends itself to use in extreme environments. LVDTs can be made to work submerged in sea water, in temperatures of 600°C (1100°F) in high nuclear ratiation and at pressures of up to 2000bar (30,000psi).
