At SPE Offshore 2013, Renishaw will exhibit a range of its metrology products, including Revo, Equator, Fanbeam, the XL-80 machine tool calibration system, the QC20-W telescoping ballbar and OMV Pro software.

Revo gives a fast, five-axis measurement capability that maximises co-ordinate measuring machine (CMM) throughput while maintaining high system accuracy, while Equator is a lightweight, fast and highly repeatable gauge that operators can use with pushbutton simplicity.

MDL, part of Renishaw, will showcase the Fanbeam high-accuracy position reference system for the dynamic positioning of work vessels for a range of applications.

Machine-tool calibration systems including the XL-80 will also be on show, as will the QC20-W telescoping ballbar, which allows testing in three orthogonal planes through a single reference point. Finally, the OMV Pro software will be of interest to SPE Offshore visitors that are considering the inspection of parts on their machine tools.

Renishaw will be found on Stand 184 in Hall 4 at SPE Offshore, which is set to take place on 3–6 September 2013 at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre.

Revo

  • Revo uses synchronised motion and Renscan5 measurement technology to minimise the dynamic effects of CMM motion at ultra-high measurement speeds; this is achieved by letting the Revo head do the fast demanding motion while the CMM moves in a linear slow fashion.

Equator

OMV Pro software

  • This includes more advanced CMM-type capabilities with an extended range of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD and T) functionality.
  • It also has the ability to work with multiple alignments in a single program — an advantage when working with multi-axis machine tools.
  • The software includes simulation capability, an intuitive graphical interface and a crystal-clear reporting format that makes it accessible to shop-floor staff.
  • The GD and T measurement wizard helps users create standardised report elements based on internationally recognised symbols, allowing operators to compare part measurement results on the machine with those on the manufacturing drawing.
