GAO RFID Asset Tracking has launched a passive ultra-high-frequency Gen 2 RFID tag, which is designed for use in retail and supply chain management, asset tracking, document management and logistics.

The RFID tag, which provides both near-field and far-field communication modes, is also suitable for item-level tagging applications.

This compact tag employs advanced passive RFID technology and is claimed to be an economic alternative to other more expensive active tag solutions.

It is part of the company’s Fleet Maintenance RFID Tags range of products.

This RFID tag, model 116008, operates at a frequency range of 902-928MHz for US standards and has a 96-bit memory capacity for data storage.

The passive tag is compliant with the EPC Class 1 Gen 2 standard and the ISO18000-6C protocol.

It enables multi-detection and offers a maximum read quantity of 400 tags per second.

It is available with offset printing or silk screen with logo, code or barcode.

This contactless read/write tag has four holes measueing 0.125in in diameter and is encapsulated within 0.010in polypropylene on both sides.

As a result, it is waterproof and dustproof and is resistant to immersion in salt water, alcohol, oil and 10 per cent HCL ammonia.

In addition, it is vibration resistant and fine tuned for edge-on reading.
