Available from Switchtec, Hongfa’s screwless socket for use with its 41F relay reduces installation time and provides a vibration-resistant connection.

The screwless socket version of the 41F is said to be useful for panel builders who are constantly striving to reduce production time while improving performance and adding value.

Standard sockets’ use of normal screw technology is a time-consuming process, having to ensure that all terminals are tightened securely and correctly to the specified level.

Too little pressure and wires can vibrate out too much and copper conductors can be crushed and severed.

The use of the screwless socket is claimed to remove this process, speeding up panel assembly times, reducing man hours and increasing productivity.

The socket can also be used in areas of high vibration.

Traditional screw technology is susceptible to vibration, causing the screw to work loose, resulting in panel or product failure, leading to costly repair bills and callout charges.

With this screwless socket version, the cable is clamped by metal spring arms that are under a constant tension, ensuring a safe and reliable connection that is much less susceptible to vibration.

Hongfa’s HF41F follows the trend for ultra-slim relays and, when fitted to a panel, offers users a high level of flexibility thanks to its compact size, contact rating and highly sensitive coil.

Aimed at panel builders and control manufacturers, the slim-line relay interface module is suitable for use in PLC controls, air-conditioning equipment, other freestanding applications and in many general industrial applications.

For longevity and reliability, the relay contacts are SPDT 6A-rated silver nickel oxide and have a maximum switching voltage of 400VAC.

The relay is also available with gold-plated contacts for specialised switching applications.

The fully featured, ultra-slim (6mm) relay has a built-in green light-emitting diode (LED) that indicates supply status, making the module quick and easy to commission and test.

Supplied with a plastic retaining clip, the relay can be instantly removed from the module for quick substitution or isolation.

Offering versatility, seven operating coil voltages are available – 6V, 9V, 12V, 24V, 48-60V, 110-125V and 220-240V – all of which are AC/DC compatible.

Able to operate safely in a wide range of ambient temperatures (export opportunities), all devices offer an operating temperature range of -40C to +70C.

For multiple installations, a two- to 20-way jumper link is available, allowing all ‘common’ terminals to be safely connected together.

As well as being much neater, the jumper link also eliminates the need to cut, strip and terminate short lengths of cable, reducing installation times.

With its very low power consumption, its 6A SPDT contacts, built-in indication and its 6mm-wide construction, the Hongfa 41F relay interface module is claimed to be a manufacturing cost-cutter and a selling point for OEMs and manufacturers.

The Hongfa 41F screwless socket can also be used with the solid-state version of the relay, the plug-in HFS32.

Suitable for controlling 2A, 48-440VAC (AC version) and 5A, 0.1-57.6VDC (DC version), the HFS32 series is able to withstand a maximum surge current of up to 80A (depending on type), making the relays appropriate for high-inrush or inductive applications.

Carrying the CE, UL and CUR approval marks, the 41F and HFS 32 series of relays and sockets from Hongfa can be installed into industrial applications.
