SGS has announced that it will be conducting an international training course entitled ‘Practical Introduction to FIDIC Contract Conditions’ in Odessa, Ukraine.

Taking place at the Odessa Hotel on 4-5 October 2010, the event will provide practical assistance to those working with the new FIDIC Contract Conditions.

Attendees can learn about FIDIC claims, disputes, adjudication and arbitration procedures from experienced engineers, Ivan Brlej, a member of the presidium of local FIDIC organisation, and Peter Mellen, an SGS expert.

Based on its experience with FIDIC in various projects, SGS will provide the participants with valuable information on how to execute engineering construction contracts in accordance with the new Conditions of Contract.

This training course is designed to provide practical assistance to those working with the new FIDIC Contract Conditions in the management of claims, achieving resolution to claims and, in particular, the workings of the Dispute Adjudication Board.

The attendees will have the opportunity to better understand the responsibilities and rights of the parties under a New FIDIC Contract and the procedures to manage claims in order to achieve the resolution of claims more successfully.

Among the topics to be discussed are the structure of FIDIC, its national organisations and general conditions.

The attendees will also learn about the types of FIDIC general conditions and their implementation in Eastern European countries.
