Showers & Eyebaths Services has introduced a 1,500-litre remote header safety tank, which offers all the benefits of a tank shower without taking up the room. The units are said to be ideal for buildings such as laboratories, research facilities, hospitals and small manufacturing facilities.

1,500-litre remote header safety tank

Being just the ‘tank’ part of a safety shower, the tank can sit in a roof space or floor space and provide a tepid water feed down to a freestanding shower, with a smaller footprint.

This is said to be particularly suitable for facilities where there is the potential of coming into contact with hazardous materials but where space can be at a premium.

Key features and benefits

  • The GRTS header tank is beneficial when access is needed to an uninterrupted 15 minutes’ tepid water drench time in areas where there is a possibility that the mains water supply could be cut off.
    • This includes areas prone to natural disasters such as hurricanes, earthquakes and floods or where there is a chance of incidents such as fires and explosions occurring.
  • The units are suitable for both non-hazardous and hazardous areas, being ATEX, GOST and CSA certified.
  • They can operate in temperatures from -20°C up to +40°C.
  • They are available in green, yellow or white.

Showers & Eyebaths Services is a global leader in the bespoke manufacture of emergency safety showers and eyebath/facewash equipment, providing solutions to employee safety while ensuring compliance with regulations is maintained.

Worldwide there is an ever-increasing demand made on the health, safety and welfare of employees as well as oil and petrochemical industries seeking more inhospitable and remote environments in which to extract natural resources. Therefore Showers & Eyebaths Services has developed the technology and specialist engineering skills to design and manufacture emergency showers that provide a guaranteed 15 minutes of tepid water as stipulated by ANSI Z358.1-2009 and that are ideal for external use from -20ºC to +40ºC. Its arctic units are GOST approved and are certified for temperatures ranging down to – 40ºC and up to +40ºC.

Importantly, water contained in the header tanks of the Showers & Eyebaths’ tank showers can be controlled at a nominal 17–18°C with its own robust heating element, keeping the water temperature to below the threshold of Legionella thereby eliminating its proliferation.

All products are designed to last 20 years, if they have been serviced and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.
