The SICK LFV200 vibrating level sensor delivers high-reliability, hygiene certificated presence or absence indication for food and beverage equipment protection.

Launched at the PPMA Show 2009 as a flagship product within SICK’s Industrial Instrument Division, the LFV200 is designed to achieve low lifetime costs.

Available in standard or hygiene certificated versions for a range of applications, the LFV200 is a universal limit switch providing on/off liquid detection, virtually independent of liquid properties.

Level indication for overfill or empty/demand operation in tanks and pipes or for dry running protection for pumps is achieved independent of density, viscosity or electrical properties.

The LFV200 hygiene certificated version offers an extended -40 to 150C temperature range, enabling it to withstand Clean-In-Place and Sterilise-In-Place procedures, and comes with EHEDG and FDA approvals.

While all LFV200s feature high-grade 316L stainless-steel wetted parts, hygienic version wetted surfaces are polished to a 0.8um maximum roughness finish.

The integral fault monitoring circuit protects process integrity and the choice of standard or longer fork lengths allow backward compatibility with older tuning fork designs.

The LFV200 is easily integrated with a range of process control systems.

The complementary outputs from the transmitter enable a choice of normally open or normally closed circuits to suit the application.

In addition, the choice of 10-55V DC transistor or 20-253V AC contactless switch outputs (max 0.25A load) enable direct control of relays, contactors, warning lights, horns and other devices.
