Softinway will host the Intensive Training on Turbomachinery Design course on 8-12 February 2010 in Dusseldorf, Germany.

This five-day course is aimed at providing mechanical and aerospace engineers with an in-depth insight into axial turbines and presenting a reliable, finely tuned solution to design and optimise axial/radial turbomachinery flow path.

The program consists of two independent parts.

Axial Turbine Fundamentals will cover thermodynamics, gas dynamics, structural analysis and the basics of steam and gas turbines and their elements.

This course is intended to extend an engineer’s knowledge of axial turbine design and operation to raise their professional level and enhance the engineering practice.

The Axstream Interactive Workshop on Turbomachinery Flow Path Design and Optimisation aims to ensure that all attendees gain a practical understanding of turbomachinery design and optimisation using the Axstream software suite.

During this hands-on workshop engineers will use Axstream to perform such tasks as preliminary design of turbomachinery flow paths, inverse and direct 1D/2D analysis and optimisation, 3D profiling/stacking of the airfoils, 3D FEA and CFD, as well as export results to 3D CAD programs.

Each participant can choose a particular track of study to cater for specific interests: axial and radial turbomachinery (comprehensive overview); axial turbine; axial compressor; radial turbine; centrifugal compressor; and retrofitting and performance upgrades.

Those who register and pay before 20 December 2009 will get a 20 per cent discount.
