Specialist IR Lenses for Thermal Imaging Applications

By Resolve Optics on 13th May 2020

Product Details Supplier Info More products

Resolve Optics is a leading supplier of application optimised Infrared (IR) lenses for use in thermal imaging applications.

Infrared lenses designed for thermal imaging cameras and sensors operating in the mid-wave and long-wave infrared (MWIR, LWIR) bands, find use in applications including diagnostics, non-destructive testing, security and surveillance.

Drawing upon substrates include germanium, sapphire, silicon or zinc selenide, Resolve Optics IR lenses can be supplied with anti-reflection coatings to optimise performance in different parts of the infrared waveband to best suit your application.

Mark Pontin, Managing Director of Resolve Optics commented “Often thermal imaging product designers are drawn towards off-the-shelf IR lenses manufactured for the mass market where unit cost is the dominant driving force. However when it comes to an application that optically requires something a little more demanding such as high sensitivity, high-resolution, compactness or a large format image the off-the-shelf market will force you to accept a compromise in one or more of these aspects of optical performance. The result can be restricted product applications, a bulkier less attractive product, short product life and loss of competitive advantage – all of which ultimately lead to lower profitability. As a result, a custom infrared lens design that meets the exact needs of your thermal imaging application can mean the difference between success or failure”.
