Anritsu’s MS272xC hand-held Spectrum Master allows field technicians, monitoring agencies and engineers to monitor over-the-air signals, locate interferers, and detect hidden transmitters.

Providing frequency coverage up to 43GHz in an instrument that weighs less than 8lbs, the MS272xC series is designed with an assortment of applications to test the RF physical layer.

Five models, with high-end frequency coverage of 9, 13, 20, 32 and 43GHz, respectively, are available.

The MS272xC Spectrum Master eliminates the need to carry heavy benchtop spectrum analysers into the field to measure signals above 20GHz, such as those used in microwave backhaul applications.

To further lighten the load, the MS272xC Spectrum Master is integrated with a spectrum analyser and can be ordered with a channel scanner and interference analyser to conduct all common field measurements, eliminating the need for multiple instruments.

A number of 3G/4G options can be easily incorporated into the hand-held spectrum analysers to measure LTE, HSPA+, W-CDMA, CDMA/EV-DO, GSM/EDGE, TD-SCDMA/HSDPA, and Wimax signals.

Users can monitor and measure the spectrum quickly, as the MS2726C Spectrum Master has a sweep time of 27sec for a 43GHz span with a 30kHz RBW.

Accuracy is not sacrificed for speed, however, as the MS2726C delivers phase noise of -100dBc/Hz at 10kHz offset at 1GHz and dynamic range of 104dB.

Designed with a broadband preamplifier, the handheld spectrum analysers have a sensitivity of -160dBm at 1GHz and -147dBm at 40GHz to detect small signals.

An intuitive menu-driven screen makes it easy to conduct all measurements.

An analysis package and Anritsu’s Master Software Tools provide users with the capability to conduct detailed evaluation of measurement data.

Interference sources can be easily identified using built-in reporting tools, mapping, folder spectrograms and 3D Spectrograms.

These tools eliminate the need for more expensive, larger, heavier benchtop instruments, as well as third-party spectrum-monitoring software.

The MS272xC series utilises the field-proven Spectrum Master design.

A rugged housing can withstand the day-to-day operations associated with field use and its light weight makes it easy to carry the MS272xC analyser up towers.

It has a field-replaceable long-life battery and operating temperature of -10 to 55C.

A large daylight-viewable display makes it easy for users to see results in any environment.

Display modes include a red night-vision mode a black and white mode, as well as two full-colour modes.
