Stemmer Imaging, formerly Firstsight Vision, is offering Dalsa’s Genie M1600 and C1600 two-megapixel, GigE Vision-compliant cameras for OEMs, system integrators and resellers.

The Genie C1600 and Genie M1600 colour and monochrome cameras feature high-quality, two-megapixel, high-resolution 1,600 x 1,200 Sony sensors, making them ideally suited to a host of industrial imaging applications in the semiconductor, robotics and traffic control industries.

These versatile cameras offer high frame rates with vertical windowing and horizontal and vertical binning.

Frame rates up to 114 fps can be achieved, with 15 fps at full resolution.

The Genie M1600 and C1600 cameras combine standard GigE Vision technology with Dalsa’s Trigger-to-Image Reliability framework to capture and transfer images from the camera to the host PC.

Additional features include a global electronic shutter with exposure control, on-board flat-field correction, and on-board colour conversion (used by the colour model) to produce crisp and clear images.

The GigE Vision camera integrates advanced camera and board image acquisition technologies in a single package.

The cameras feature an RJ45 ruggedised screw-mount cable connector, which makes them ideal for robotic applications.

The cameras are supported by both Dalsa’s Sapera development environment and Stemmer Imaging’s CVB Camerasuite, which provides manufacturer independence for all acquisition technologies, and delivers the same performance regardless of the image-acquisition device being used.

This feature allows OEMs to start using the Genie without re-writing the application.

In addition, CVB includes diagnostics and setup utilities for application development, custom camera configurations and system deployment.

STEMMER IMAGING is Europe’s largest imaging technology provider with headquarters in Germany and subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, France and Switzerland.

Image processing or Machine Vision is used in many different application areas – such as industrial automation, medical imaging, security and traffic technology – as a powerful and cost effective way of implementing automatic quality assurance. Even at high speeds and with stringent accuracy requirements, image processing allows 100% monitoring and thus strengthens the competitive edge of those companies using it.

STEMMER IMAGING customers have access to a wide variety of imaging products from the worlds leading manufacturers. These manufacturers represent the cutting edge of vision technology which is something that is unique in Europe. STEMMER IMAGING are the developers of the world’s leading image processing software platform, Common Vision Blox, and as a manufacturer of customer-specific products, we have a full range of in-house expertise to draw on, allowing us to supply the best possible service to our customers when choosing an imaging solution. STEMMER IMAGING does not produce turn-key solutions – instead, using our close partnerships with a large number of experienced system integrators, we can provide expert technical know-how for the planning, integration and realisation of complete solutions.
