Stemmer Imaging plans to showcase the new Boa smart camera for end users, vision integrators and original equipment manufacturers and the latest high-speed cameras for process and machinery analysis.

According to the company, high-speed imaging is not only important for identifying faulty product on high-speed production lines but also in applications as diverse as process analysis in machine building, the optimisation of production workflow, material testing, research and development, combustion and crash test and explosive testing.

The Boa range of smart vision systems from Dalsa is now available for colour imaging.

With a full suite of built-in vision tools and measurement capabilities, Boa is a fully self-contained inspection system that it suitable for a range of tasks, such as positioning, identification, code reading, verification, measurement and flaw detection.

The colour version of Boa provides additional visual information that can be critical in many manufacturing industries, such as the automotive industry.

With a small, 44mm cube form factor and an IP67-rated housing, Boa can be mounted both where space is limited and in harsh environmental conditions.

The latest high-speed colour and monochrome cameras from Optronis feature high-resolution, four-megapixel image sensors, with the flexibility to reduce the size of the exposed sensor area to increase the frame rate.

Built-in Ultraformat image processing takes sub-pixel information and combines it with information from surrounding pixels to enhance the appearance of the images.

This is useful for very high-speed imaging where only a small region of the image sensor is used.

Optronis cameras also feature 16Mb of onboard memory, which enables long recording times for operation even at very low light levels.

Several image sequences can be acquired, separating the memory into several partitions.

After the acquisition, each sequence can be viewed or downloaded independently.

STEMMER IMAGING is Europe’s largest imaging technology provider with headquarters in Germany and subsidiaries in the United Kingdom, France and Switzerland.

Image processing or Machine Vision is used in many different application areas – such as industrial automation, medical imaging, security and traffic technology – as a powerful and cost effective way of implementing automatic quality assurance. Even at high speeds and with stringent accuracy requirements, image processing allows 100% monitoring and thus strengthens the competitive edge of those companies using it.

STEMMER IMAGING customers have access to a wide variety of imaging products from the worlds leading manufacturers. These manufacturers represent the cutting edge of vision technology which is something that is unique in Europe. STEMMER IMAGING are the developers of the world’s leading image processing software platform, Common Vision Blox, and as a manufacturer of customer-specific products, we have a full range of in-house expertise to draw on, allowing us to supply the best possible service to our customers when choosing an imaging solution. STEMMER IMAGING does not produce turn-key solutions – instead, using our close partnerships with a large number of experienced system integrators, we can provide expert technical know-how for the planning, integration and realisation of complete solutions.
