T-mac technologies has announced a major upgrade to its energy-saving software.

Carbon-footprint reducing technology from t-mac technologies helps businesses to identify the energy consumption of buildings, manage carbon emissions and minimise energy waste, all online.

The upgrades to the t-mac software suite and dashboards have been designed as a result of market research that identified requirements for legislation and for businesses.

The dashboards will be available as part of the t-mac software suite from January 2010 at no extra cost.

These additional software/dashboard tools are intended to: help businesses manage and monitor their consumption inline with the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) legislation; showcase their automatic meter reading (AMR) data as part of their CSR activities; and manage multiple-site control strategies through the mini Building Management System (BMS) programme.

These dashboards will offer businesses an even more interactive and graphical interface to manage, review and amend their energy consumption and energy-reduction strategies.

Initial client trials have shown that the new mini BMS dashboard saved 12 hours of engineering time, as the client was able to change lighting-control times across all 2,000 sites at the touch of a button.

Users can expect a number of improvements for each dashboard: the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) dashboard offers the ability to keep track of current consumption against that purchased, which will encourage businesses to ‘act’ upon deviations of consumption to ensure that at the end of the recording year they are below the amount purchased.

Businesses will also be able to view a daily/weekly/monthly measure of their energy use to enable them to view current consumption against purchased consumption to assess instantly whether they will be under or over by the end of the financial year.

Reports can also be obtained easily as part of the CRC audit trail for submission at the end of each year.

The Automatic Meter Reading (AMR) dashboard lets the user collect live metering data from mains multi-utility meters via PC or plasma screen, enabling them to display and easily manage their metering data per site.

The Mini Building Management System (BMS) dashboard offers those using the t-mac system as a mini BMS: increased functionality for mass import of business addresses and business hours, and configuration of one or many t-mac units to be linked to a site; site changes will automatically filter to the correct t-mac unit and define control strategies that can be applied to multiple sites.

T-mac technologies is also offering UK businesses the opportunity to enter a competition to win a t-mac system.

The prize, worth up to GBP10,000, also includes technical support and a custom-designed energy dashboard for a year.
