Taegutec improves Endmill cutting tool rigidity

By TaeguTec UK on 8th January 201015th December 2015

Product Details Supplier Info More products

Taegutec has launched its Ecoball Endmill, a solid-carbide cutting tool.

The Ecoball range of ball-nosed end mills are pressed to size during the production process to improve rigidity, cutter surface finish and component finish and accuracy.

It is produced in an efficient process that reduces stock removal and enables the cost savings to be passed on to the end user.

Produced from specialist fine-grain carbide, the Ecoball offers high metal-removal rates and can be used for profile and cavity machining in the aerospace, automotive and medical industries.

The Tialn carbide range of two-flute cutters is available in 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12mm diameters with a respective cutting length of 5, 7, 9, 11 and 12mm and an overall length of 54, 56, 66 and 73mm.

The Ecoball can be applied to roughing and finishing applications on alloy steel and tool steels from 30 to 45HRc and on hardened steels from 45 to 55HRc.

It can comfortably machine at speeds beyond 15,000rpm and feed rates of beyond 1m/min, depending upon material type.

Due to its new design, the Ecoball can also be reground.
