In many cases, IR radiation can be introduced to great advantage. The wavelength of the IR radiation has a significant influence on drying. Water is evaporated especially quickly by medium-wave IR radiation. The reason for this is that medium-wave radiation is converted directly into heat in water. The so-called IR/Air Knife has shown itself to be eminently suitable, especially in the drying of water-soluble varnish systems.
