Tektronix has introduced optical sampling oscilloscope modules for the Tektronix DSA8200 Digital Serial Analyzer Series.

These modules will lower the cost of high-performance optical transmitter development and standards compliance.

The 80C10B and 80C10B with Option F1 (80C10B F1) provide a complete testing solution for compliance verification of next-generation transmitter standards from 40Gb/s to 100Gb/s and beyond.

The 80C25GBE is a module for 100Gb/s Ethernet (100GbE) manufacturing and compliance verification.

The 80C10B module provides 80+ GHz optical bandwidth and signal fidelity for detailed characterisation of 40Gb/s and beyond.

The Option F1 provides gain-filtering technology for specific industry standards – making the 80C10B F1 a single-module test solution for all major optical standards, including: OC-768/STM256, VSR2000 (ITU-T G.693), 40GBase-LR (future serial), OTU3, 4X10G LAN PHY, 100GBase-LR4, 100GBase-ER4, 100GBase-LR4 + FEC and 100GBase-ER4 + FEC.

The 80C10B and 80C10B F1 modules are cost-effective solutions for design and compliance verification of high-speed optical data communications, as well as telecommunications standards from 40Gb/s to 100Gb/s (4X25G).

The 80C10B F1 and 80C25GBE optical modules give engineers the advantages of reduced time per test and accurate and repeatable measurements.

Tektronix claims the 80C10B offers the highest optical bandwidth available on the market, in combination with optical reference receivers (ORR) for 39.813Gb/s OC-768/STM256, 41.25G 40GBase-LR, 43.018 Gb/s G.709 FEC (OTU3) and 4X10G LAN PHY standards.

The 80C10B offers guaranteed ITU and IEEE compliant filters in this performance arena.

The 80C25GBE supports manufacturing of 100GBase-LR4, 100GBase-LR4 + FEC, 100GBase-ER4 and 100GBase-ER4 + FEC where speed and accuracy are fundamental to cost-effective compliance testing.

The 80C25GBE provides 65GHz optical bandwidth for accurate unfiltered signal characterisation.

Both the 80C10B and 80C25GBE deliver up to 4X acquisition throughput compared with alternatives.

When combined with the 80C08C and 80C10B F1 modules, the Tektronix DSA8200 represents a versatile solution for existing optical ITU-T, IEEE and ANSI Fibrechannel standards at 10G, 40G and 100G.

Tektronix now provides all reference receiver filters for physical layer compliance testing of every major optical data rate from 8.5Gb/s through 44.5Gb/s, including 40GBase-SR4, 40GBase-LR4 and 100GBase-SR10, simultaneously in a single test system.

All new models will be available from 24 March 2009.
