The Tesa ACX plus Black Line tape adds cold-shock performance to its range of features and has been introduced primarily for demanding attachment part mounting applications in the automotive sector, such as bumpers, side mouldings, badges, door sill trims, window frames, roof rails and headlight washers.

Available in three thicknesses, 7808 (800µm), 7812 (1200µm) and 7815 (1500µm), the Tesa ACX plus Black Line is deep, dense black in colour for virtually invisible attachment part mounting and delivers minimal edge lifting across a broad temperature range, down to minus 40ºC. In addition, it offers smaller design gaps as it requires only low compression during mounting.

There is a package of support available along the value chain, including process involvement with the OEMs and their TIER suppliers. An adhesion promoter is available along with tabbing solutions and full material or part testing support via Tesa’s own technical laboratories.

Key benefits

  • Stress dissipation characteristic, a direct result of theviscoelasticity the tape embodies in its modified acrylic adhesive and foamed acrylic backing.
  • During the lifetime of a vehicle, static and dynamic stresses act upon the constructive bond between the car body and the parts attached to it. These can be caused by the different thermal elongation of the materials, however, Tesa ACX plus Black Line’s viscoelasticity ensures these stresses are optimally dissipated avoiding weak failure spots and delivering a secure bond even during extreme weather and temperature changes.
  • Water sealing, noise dampening and gap-closing characteristics.
