Michell Instruments has applied thermo-paramagnetic technology to the sensor elements of the XTP600 oxygen transmitter.

This new thermo-paramagnetic oxygen transmitter works without drift in hydrogen applications.

According to the company, hydrogen applications are known to cause significant sensor drift in traditional oxygen analysers.

The measurements in such environments are not only false but are also limited to certain hydrogen concentrations.

With the latest thermo-paramagnetic technology applied to the sensor element of the XTP600 oxygen transmitter, these limitations are lifted.

The special design of the measurement cell eliminates transmitter drift and deterioration by preventing the hydrogen molecules from diffusing into the sensor.

The XTP600 was developed as a self-contained oxygen transmitter for applications in various areas of the process industry.

The transmitter measures oxygen content between 0.01 per cent and 100 per cent, utilising the latest developments in the non-depleting thermo-paramagnetic technology.

With no moving parts and an explosion-proof housing, the transmitter can be directly used in harsh industrial environments as well as hazardous areas.

The XTP600 oxygen transmitter is suitable for use in applications where fast-response speed and high accuracy are essential for safety.

The accuracy and linearity is less than one per cent FS, while the speed of response is less than 16 seconds for a 63 per cent step change.

Michell claims that users also benefit from low maintenance costs thanks to the non-depleting thermo-paramagnetic technology.
