Thomson product line specialist Tobias Münch will present a technical webinar on worm-gear screw jacks on 21 August 2013, providing practical advice on how to correctly size and choose screw jacks suitable for lifting, tilting and positioning applications.

The webinar will explore how Thomson’s worm screw jacks can optimise cost, performance and reliability through customer applications, for example the adjustment of paper rolls and conveyors, the tilting and positioning of assembly platforms and material pressing.

It will also provide a step-by-step process for selecting the correct component and explain how to calculate system parameters such as the required drive torque and critical buckling force.

The first webinar will be conducted in German at 1am CEST on 21 August and the second will be in English at 4pm CEST on 21 August.

Key features and benefits

  • Thomson’s worm screw jacks provide industrial positioning up to 500kN
  • They can withstand high compressive and tensile loads for precise and durable lifting, lowering, tilting and feed movement
  • The worm screw jacks are designed using computer-aided design and computer-aided engineering
