Timesys Corporation has announced the AT91SAM9G45 processor from Atmel.

Based around the 2.6.30 kernel, the processor provides full support for Atmel’s SAM9G45 evaluation kit.

Drivers are included for a range of system peripherals such as Ethernet, the LCD/Touchscreen controller, power management and the USB2.0 controller (in both host and device modes).

Linuxlink’s ‘Factory’ build system provides a wizard for creating an initial Linux starting image as well as a build engine that enables customers to design and build a custom Linux platform from source code.

Customers can select from GNU-based toolchains enabled with uclibc and glibc libraries.

The SAM9G45 processor is suitable for markets such as point-of-sale terminals and intelligent user-interface panel controllers.

Linuxlink provides access to a range of relevant middleware packages such as Qt/Embedded for Linux, GTK and bluez, enabling the creation of a footprint-optimised root-file system (RFS) with a set of APIs.

The desktop version allows users to integrate third-party packages and proprietary software.

Linuxlink’s update service automatically notifies customers of changes to any of the components used in their project.

Customers are also given access to commonly used debugging tools within the Eclipse-based support from Timesys engineers, as well as a range of documentation.
