Sierra Instrument’s Smart-Trak 50 Series OEM flow controller has received Flow Control Magazine’s 2010 Product Innovation Award for its advances in flow-control technology.

This award marks the fifth consecutive annual innovation award given to Sierra by the readers of Flow Control Magazine.

‘By reducing the number of parts in our new 50 Series by almost 40 per cent, automating calibration and leveraging a strong, global supplier base, we’ve been able to deliver our signature ‘Smart-Trak’ quality and performance in an economical OEM package,’ said Matthew J Olin, president of Sierra Instruments.

Features include the 50 Series advanced 316L stainless-steel platinum-wound capillary sensor technology and frictionless hovering valve technology, ensuring precise mass-flow control for nearly any clean gas.

In addition, Sierra’s patented LFE is truly linear.

The linearity of the 50 Series allows the unit to be zeroed and spanned in the field, so OEMs do not have to remove the unit for recalibration.

The 50 Series delivers accuracy of +/- 1.5 per cent FS, repeatability of +/- 0.25 per cent FS and 0 to 50 slpm/nlpm range in one compact footprint.

It comes with analogue outputs, as well as RS-232 and RS-485, with optional large local display and two DB9 connectors located on either side of the enclosure for convenient wiring.
