A set-up and positioning aid has been introduced to the Trubend press brakes from Trumpf.

A series of red LED lights set at millimetre intervals in the upper tool clamp visually guides the operator through the tool and bending set-up processes.

The operator no longer has to read the position of the tools from the set-up plan on the control panel and find the corresponding position on the scale on the upper tool clamp.

This eliminates the need for the operator to move from the monitor to the machine and vice versa.

Station bending is also enhanced by this system.

The light display shows the exact position of the next bend, again negating the need for the operator to refer to the machine control panel.

Shorter cycle times are therefore assured.

This system is a standard feature on the Trubend Series 5000 machines and also available as an upgrade on older models.

Another Trubend productivity feature is the mobile control operating module.

This puts the most important machine functions at the operator’s fingertips on the top beam of the press brake.

Up to four of these modules can be used on one press brake to distribute control evenly along the length of the machine.

This device also works in harmony with the Trumpf automatically controlled bending (ACB) modules.

This angle sensor measures and adjusts the bend angle until the precise programmed angle is achieved.

It automatically compensates for spring back caused by different material properties.
