Ion Science has introduced the ATEX-approved three-wire TVOC monitor for use without safety barriers in Zone 2 hazardous areas.

The Total Volatile Organic Compound monitor can be installed without barriers in a zone 2 area to directly replace an existing photoionisation detector (PID).

TVOC is also available as an IECEx- and ATEX-approved four-wire option for zone 1 areas, with safety barriers.

Designed for fixed, continuous area monitoring, TVOC provides rapid, accurate detection of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

The 4-20mA analogue output allows TVOC to be integrated into a DCS control system to give warning or control of high VOC levels within the working environment.

The TVOC PID cell utilises Fence Electrode Technology.

Its PID capabilities provide resistance to humidity and give fast, consistent results.

Target industries and applications for TVOC include manufacturing and processing plants, refineries, petrochemical, offshore, chemical, wastewater treatment, pharmaceutical, indoor air quality, pulp and paper, solvent-recovery systems, and industrial painting and coating.

Ion Science manufactures and distributes a unique portfolio of technologically advanced gas detection equipment.

The range comprises of hand-held and fixed photoionisation detection (PID) instruments with a detection range of ppb to 10,000 ppm for volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) and other toxic gases. Also available are leak detectors for the detection of SF6 gas in high voltage switchgear and fixed or roaming corrosion monitors for the detection of hydrogen flux in steel pipes. Ion Science instruments are suitable for a wide range of industries and applications that include environmental, landfill, brownfield, petrochemical, first response, industrial safety and confined space entry.

Products are available through a global network of distributors. The company delivers a range of service options to customers designed to provide a full calibration, maintenance and repair service for all Ion Science instruments. Custom built facilities are located at Ion Science, or through a network of Authorised Service Centres around the globe.

Fully qualified engineers are on hand to provide customers with the best possible service and fast turnaround to minimise instrument downtime
