Ion Science has introduced the ATEX-approved three-wire TVOC monitor for use without safety barriers in Zone 2 hazardous areas.

The Total Volatile Organic Compound monitor can be installed without barriers in a zone 2 area to directly replace an existing photoionisation detector (PID).

TVOC is also available as an IECEx- and ATEX-approved four-wire option for zone 1 areas, with safety barriers.

Designed for fixed, continuous area monitoring, TVOC provides rapid, accurate detection of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

The 4-20mA analogue output allows TVOC to be integrated into a DCS control system to give warning or control of high VOC levels within the working environment.

The TVOC PID cell utilises Fence Electrode Technology.

Its PID capabilities provide resistance to humidity and give fast, consistent results.

Target industries and applications for TVOC include manufacturing and processing plants, refineries, petrochemical, offshore, chemical, wastewater treatment, pharmaceutical, indoor air quality, pulp and paper, solvent-recovery systems, and industrial painting and coating.
