With the help of the flexible iglidur J universal sliding element from igus, users can now tailor the desired size of their rotary table bearings. Polymer rotary table (PRT) bearings from igus are available in seven sizes and three types. There is also an igus PRT bearing with a quadratic flange for direct assembly on a flat surface.

Make your own polymer rotary tables in the size of your choice

iglidur PRT is a rotary table bearing that is claimed to offer the advantages of igus polymer plain bearings. The sliding elements made of the tribo-optimised plastic iglidur J run totally maintenance and lubrication free. The counterfaces of the rotary table bearing are mostly made of aluminium and are hard anodised. As a result they also have good tribological and sliding features.

Rotary table bearings are often used for slow pivoting and rotating motions that are operated manually: the ready-to-install rotary table bearings have a self-locking effect, for example in case of pivoting control panels of machines. At clocked movements in assembly lines, they work perfectly for a long time, no matter how often the movement is performed.

Key features and benefits

  • The smallest iglidur rotary table bearings have an inside diameter of 20mm and the largest bearings have an inside diameter of 300mm. There are five other sizes are in between.
  • igus engineers have now developed a flexible plastic universal sliding element with which rotary table bearings in most different sizes can be achieved: by putting iglidur J sliding elements together, rotary tables from an inside diameter of 500mm up to almost infinite can be manufactured as desired. A rotary table bearing with a diameter of 1m that is built up on that basis can be loaded with up to 10 tonnes according to its model.
  • Large rotary tables are often required in solar technology, for assembly units or fixture construction. For such applications, igus not only delivers the sliding elements but also supports the design engineer with information about precise dimensions and tolerances. With it the assembled bearing unit can be used immediately.
  • All igus rotary table systems are wear resistant, corrosion free and easy to install — especially the new polymer rotary table bearing with square flange. It can be mounted on the flat surface with four screws only and without inlet holes. This avoids an additional distance ring. This rotary table has been designed for handling systems, the furniture industry and for display and advertising technology.
  • Along with the seven sizes, igus rotary table bearings are available in three versions: a robust standard version also with mounted gear wheel, a cost-effective variant made of one element and a lightweight low-cost-version with an inside diameter of 80mm.

Igus

Igus is the largest producer of reinforced plastic energy chains and injection-moulded polymer bearings. The range of polymer bearings includes Iglidur plain, Igubal spherical and Drylin linear bearings. They offer an excellent price-to-life relationship and are developed under the toughest conditions. They are oil, maintenance and lubrication free, low wear, resistant to dirt and dust, corrosion free and simple to fit. Igus also has the data to precisely predict the lifetime of these bearings within a specific application.

Energy chains are the umbilical cord of modern machines. They minimise downtime and protect, support and extend the service life of cables and hoses. The broad range incorporates more than 30,000 innovative, low-cost products. From the smallest ‘micro’ chain to the largest chain in the world, the E4.350, Igus energy chains are capable of long and short travel distances at high speeds in all axes.

Igus also has its own cable series, Chainflex, specially designed with energy chains in mind. They are highly flexible cables, offering a long service life and very small bending radii. A wide range is available, from small signal cables to large power cables, high-speed data cables and glass fibre-optic cables.

The company’s energy chains and Chainlflex cables can be delivered as a fully harnessed and pre-assembled Readychain system, cutting purchasing, warehousing and installation costs.
