Anritsu has extended the low-end frequency of its MN469xB Vectorstar four-port test sets.

These microwave multiport Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) solutions measure down to 70kHz.

The MN469xB series now combines DC coverage and the dynamic range time domain capability of a VNA, making the test sets suitable for digital engineers who need to conduct signal integrity measurements on passive high-speed balanced transmission lines and connections in order to optimise their gigabit designs.

Two models are available in the MN469xB series.

The MN4694B covers up to 40GHz while the MN4697B has a frequency range up to 70GHz.

Both include bias tees for active measurement applications.

The accuracy and measurement speed of 30us/point make the MN269xB series suitable for both research-and-development and manufacturing environments.

The Vectorstar multiport solution provides a four-port capability using an external test set driven by the base VNA.

This flexibility allows the removal of the test set for uncompromised two-port measurements or for use with multiple VNAs.

This four-port architecture is suitable for single-ended devices, balanced passive devices and balanced linear active devices.

The MN469xB brings the advantages of Vectorstar to multiport applications.

The MS4640A delivers two-port frequency coverage of 70kHz to 70GHz, a dynamic range of 103dB at 67GHz and a measurement speed of 20us/point for S-parameter measurements on radio-frequency, microwave and millimetre wave devices.

The device is claimed to feature an excellent receiver compression level.

It has a receiver with a +10dBm 0.1dB compression level at 70GHz.

With Precision Autocal for 70kHz to 40GHz or 70GHz calibrations, residual directivity of 42dB can be achieved at 70GHz and up to 50dB at 20GHz.

This type of performance allows devices to be more tightly specified.

The real measurement speed of 20us/point is achieved without restrictions, according to the company.

The MN469xB series test set has a delivery of 10 weeks after receipt of order.
