Verder has completed an entire pump replacement project at the Bishops Palace, the historic home of the Archbishop of York.

The project included the removal of the existing equipment, the provision of over pumping using a Verderflex VF40 peristaltic pump and modification of the structure to accommodate the submersible pumps – including replacing the cover slab and increasing the height of the slab above the local flood level.

Once all the civil works were complete and the structure cured, the old dry well was benched out, the submersible pumps installed and the chamber flooded to form a wet-well installation.

Verdermag
With the absence of mechanical seals, the Verdermag® range eliminates the danger of abrasive wear from the drive shaft and seal faces and instead uses an o-ring sealing system. As the pump has no vulnerability to containing the media, it can provide reliable handling of hazardous fluids such as volatile, corrosive and toxic chemicals with no risk to employees, the environment or surrounding equipment. The range encompasses compact low flow/head pumps commonly used in OEM systems through to high flow, heavy duty pumps rated up to 200 bar. For compatibility with all types of chemicals the range is available with both metallic and non-metallic materials such as ETFE and a range of alloys. Custom pump specifications are available.

Verderhus
