Verderflex supplied Alliance Technical Laboratories (ATL) with a programmable, desktop peristaltic tube pump for delivering accurate flows of sterile liquids, chemicals and other fluids.

ATL used to fill hygienic bags of sterile media used for meat and other food goods by hand, which was time consuming and prone to human error.

The pump installed by Verderflex delivers flows of up to 1,310ml/min, with a measurement accuracy of up to ±0.5 per cent.

The liquid being pumped is kept completely sealed via a length of tubing that prevents contamination between the medium and the pump or other external substances. It also ensure that there are no moving parts to become clogged or worn.

The pump works by squeezing the tubing between the outer casing and a roller, which pushes the liquid along as it rotates. This action creates a vacuum in the tube that is filled by more liquid from the source. According to Verderflex, this method ensures accurate and repeatable flow with no need to measure each dose before it is added.

Key features

  • Can be adapted to work with a foot switch
  • Additional pump heads can be added to the pump, enabling multiple dosing application
  • The tubing can be changed using three steps, without the need for tools
  • A timed dose option allows a set amount of liquid to be dosed each time without the need for reprogramming
