CGTech has introduced v7.3 of its Vericut CNC machine simulation, verification and optimisation software. Designed to simplify manufacturing engineers’ ability to simulate the CNC programming and machining process, Vericut v7.3 features enhancements for users such as small subcontractors, OEMs and their suppliers.

Vericut enables users to eliminate the process of manually proving out NC programs. It reduces scrap loss and rework and also optimises NC programs in order to both save time and produce a higher-quality surface finish.

The software simulates all types of CNC machine tools, including those from DMG-Mori Seiki, Mazak, Makino, Matsuura, Hermle and Chiron.

Vericut v7.3 enhancements

  • The Vericut user interface is very customisable. V7.3 has new icons, available in multiple sizes. There are also several user-selectable colour themes, and every window and icon can be optionally displayed or hidden.
  • User-configurable ‘favourites’ further simplify setting up a simulation session. ‘Favourites’ can consist of commonly used folders and files, and each item can be dragged or dropped into a project.
  • To help objects stand out in the machine simulation scene, an ‘edge display’ option analyses models and finds and displays their edges, all without affecting simulation speed.
  • During simulation, a user can create a list of ‘stop at’ events. These events, such as ‘collisions’, ‘warnings’, ‘tool changes’ or ‘end of each setup’, can be managed interactively in the NC program dialogue. The user can add, move, remove or temporarily disable the events that pause the simulation.
  • V7.3 performance is said to be up to 10 times faster when the NC program moves the simulated machine into potential collision conditions. Enhancements to Vericut’s collision algorithms remove the need to adjust complex machine models to improve performance.
  • Vericut runs standalone, but is increasingly used integrated with CAD/CAM/PLM systems. V7.3 features enhancements that improve integration with Dassault Systemes Catia, Siemens PLM NX, Delcam Powermill, Vero Edgecam and Open Mind Hypermill.

Other new features since Vericut v7.2

  • Drag/drop files from Windows for quick setup
  • Check cutting-tool wear limits based on time, distance, and volume
  • Constant gouge check simulation with very large design models is now more than twice as fast
  • The ability to automatically save a Reviewer file during the simulation session. The Vericut Reviewer incorporates all the functionality of NC Review mode in a standalone viewer, and does not require a licence

CGTech is the developer of Vericut CNC machine simulation, verification and optimisation software. Vericut protects CNC machine tools against potentially disastrous collisions by providing a virtual machining environment for program simulation and testing of post processed CNC code. Vericut is used extensively to increase the efficiency of complex five-axis machining centres and Mill/Turn machines.

Vericut is a standalone product but can also be integrated with all leading CAD/CAM/PLM systems including Catia, Siemens NX, PTC, Delcam Powermill. EdgeCAM, MasterCAM and Open Mind Hypermill.

CGTech has recently released new programming and simulation software products for the rapidly growing CNC composites automated fibre placement market.

CGTech is the recognised world leader in CNC simulation and verification software. Based in Irvine California CGTech have subsidiaries in UK, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, China and resellers throughout the world.
