Further information on the Micro-90 membrane cleaner - .PDF file.

A facility that treats industrial wastewater generated by an automotive manufacturer’s engine plant has used Micro-90, a cleaning concentrate from International Products, to clean its filter membranes for nine years.

This facility, which treats up to 168,000 gallons of wastewater per day using an ultra-filtration membrane system, initially used a two-step process involving caustic and acid media to clean its filter membranes.

However, a 1 per cent solution solution of Micro-90 is claimed to provide a safer and more efficient way to remove the organics and metals that blind the membranes.

According to International Products, Micro-90 is a mild, powerful, multipurpose, alkaline cleaning concentrate that is used in laboratories, industrial applications and critical cleaning processes.

Key benefits of product application

  • According to the facility, use of Micro-90 has saved energy, reduced its use of chemicals and resulted in less downtime.
  • There has been 100 per cent recovery after every Micro-90 wash.
  • After nine years of using Micro-90, none of the membranes have needed replacing.
  • The facility confirmed that Micro-90 succeeds in its purpose to lift, disperse, emulsify, sequester, suspend and decompose soils, before rinsing them away to leave the surface clean.
  • Soils susceptible to Micro-90 include oil, grease, wax, tar, flux, particulates, hard-water stains and biological debris.

IPC also manufactures biodegradable temporary rubber assembly lubricants under the brand P-80. P-80 products are widely used in the automotive, appliance, and pump industries to reduce the force needed to install tight-fitting rubber and plastic parts such as seals, grommets, hoses, grips, bushings, and many others. Using P-80 eliminates the compatibility and residue problems associated with motor oil, and reduces part damage caused by tearing. P-80 lubricants are compatible with most natural and synthetic rubbers, plastics, and metals.  P-80 products do not contain silicon, alcohol, or petroleum distillates, and once dry will not re-lubricate. Free samples of all products are available from the manufacturer.
