The new 153 series sounder from Werma is a square-shaped signal device designed to emit a warning in up to eight different tones.

To amplify the audible warning, the sounder is fitted with a status light. Even in large spaces, the illuminated sounder will draw attention to the sounder going off. The sounder housing is made from a smoke-effect lens and is a real industrial eye-catcher, according to Werma.

Cable is introduced through one of the eight self-sealing membranes without the need for a special tool, thus reducing installation time. The sounder cover is easily attached to the housing with a quarter turn of the four quick-release screws.

The new sounder can be installed with the 853 series LED beacon as the products share the same square housing. The new sounder is therefore an ideal acoustic addition to the traffic light series. The traffic light has a bright light signal, which is also visible from a side view, not just head on.

WERMA is the leading manufacturer of a wide range of Beacons and Sounders and accessories, often referred to as stack lights, signal towers and Andon systems. Products are designed and made at the HQ in Germany and the full range is available from its UK operation based in Wellingborough.

The range consists of signal towers and beacons available with both LEDs and filament bulbs together with a comprehensive range of sounders; sirens, buzzers and horns in a wide range of sound output levels.

Principal function is to provide optical and audible warning of machine fault or machine shop danger where such beacons and sounders are commonly installed.

Andon lights, as beacons are now commonly referred to, are often used as “call for action” systems to improve efficiency of for example line side supply of components. Manually operated lights alert remote departments wirelessly to resolve calls for action.

Many innovative features such as USB connectivity and wireless monitoring systems are also available.

There is also a comprehensive range of ex-proof signal products compliant with the latest ATEX directives.
