DataVU 7 data sheet - .PDF file.

West Control Solutions has introduced the DataVU 7, a paperless recorder that is particularly suitable for use in industrial and scientific processes including food and beverage, laboratory and heat treatment.

The recorder provides the ability to view recorded data in graphical and numerical representations via a high-clarity TFT display.

The presentation of data can be customised to a specific application by grouping related measurements on a single page.

The recorder also supports the creation of a personalised process image, helping to visualise the information being displayed.

Three batch reports can be created simultaneously in the recorder. The batch data can be displayed on the recorder and within the evaluation software. A barcode reader can be used to start batches and read batch texts, which is effective in eliminating input errors.

Key features and benefits

  • PC evaluation software allows drilldown of data to meet a user’s requirements with the option to run reports with custom time and date ranges
  • Individual comments relating to process events entered on the recorder can be viewed via the software; this gives greater meaning and relevance to the data being presented
  • Ethernet web server connection offers the capability to monitor and interrogate data
  • Modular design supports up to 18 analogue inputs compatible with most sensors and capacity for up to 24 external analogue inputs, eight relay outputs and 24 digital inputs
  • Available communications are Ethernet, RS485, RS232 including barcode reader, Profibus DP and USB
  • DataVU 7 is available with zinc cast as standard or a stainless steel fascia
  • The recorder can withstand humid or dusty conditions meeting the standard for IP65 ingress protection
  • Control knob has been designed so a user can access recorder settings quickly, even while wearing protective gloves

West Control Solutions specialises in the manufacture of temperature and process control instrumentation. Through four leading product brands CAL, West, PMA and Partlow West Control Solutions has more than 100 years’ experience designing innovative and reliable temperature control products.

Key products from West Control Solution include:

  • Temperature controllers (single-loop and multi-loop contollers)
  • Process controllers
  • Limit devices
  • Profilers and programmers
  • Digital indicators
  • Transmitters
  • Circular chart recorders (analogue and digital)
  • Paperless chart recorders

Controllers are available in 1/32, 1/16, 1/8 and 1/4 DIN sizes. There are also a number of DIN-rail-mounted controllers available. At the heart of all product designs from West Control Solutions is exact, accurate temperature control in easy-to-use products complemented with excellent reliability and durability.

West Control Solutions works with a global base of equipment manufacturers and end users. The products are ideally suited to challenging and tough environments such as industrial ovens, furnaces and kilns, plastics and extrusion. As the products offer excellent levels of precise control and accuracy together with being attractive instruments with strong aesthetic consideration during design they are often commonly used in laboratory, testing equipment and food and beverage applications.

The products are supported by a dedicated team of technical support specialists. The team has more than 25 years’ experience in temperature control instrumentation, specifically supporting products in industrial applications. This knowledge provides customers with complete peace of mind that they will be able to maximise the functionality available within the products even for the most complex of applications.

In addition to the core product offering there is also a customisation team that is available for those occasions where a custom controller will fit your requirements better than a standard product. In these cases, a comprehensive specification will be created, considering all requirements relating to the look and feel of the instrument, the format and functionality that is required. For the majority of customisation projects either a standard controller or a previous custom design can be used as the starting point for the bespoke design. This allows customers to benefit from reduced design and manufacturing costs, resulting in more customers to gain competitive advantage through unique designs and advanced functionality.
