WNT (UK) has added a series of high-speed solid carbide reamers to its cutting tool portfolio that target companies producing small to medium batch sizes where cycle-time savings are valuable.

The reamers are available as either HSR or HSR 100 designation, with both ranges featuring solid carbide bodies that aid rigidity and stability at elevated cutting speeds.

The HSR range is available between 4mm and 20mm diameter in increments of 0.5 up to 12mm diameter and 1mm between 12mm and 20mm diameter.

A wider range of sizes is available from the HSR 100 range, which goes from 3.7mm to 20.2mm diameter in finer size increments of 0.01mm.

All of the reamers feature a DIN 6535-HA plain shank as standard, which is ideal for use with shrink-fit adaptors, PS 2000 or hydraulic expansion chucks.

They are also supplied with through coolant facility to aid swarf evacuation and improve hole quality, with users able to specify through or blind hole application at the time of ordering.

The performance of the reamers is enhanced by two specific features: a TiAlN coating and an uneven pitch on the multiple cutting edges.

The TiAlN coating has a high hardness level and resistance to oxidisation to help with hole quality and tool life.

The uneven flute design helps to create holes with improved circularity when compared to conventional flute patterns.

The HSR reamers can achieve roundness of 1-2 micron as opposed to, typically, 10 micron from conventional reamers.

The standard diameters of HSR reamers and those for through-hole production will be kept on stock and will be subject to a next-day delivery guarantee if ordered anytime before 6:00pm the previous day.

With guaranteed delivery before 10:30, six days a week, for any cutting tools ordered before 18:30 the previous working day (12:30 Saturday), combined with industry-leading technical and customer support, WNT (UK) is the first-choice cutting-tool supplier for the SME engineering manufacturing sector.
