Suzuki has developed a new motorised wheelchair dubbed MIO, which features a fuel cell unit that uses direct methanol.
Unlike the lead batteries currently used in motorised wheelchairs, the fuel cell does not require recharging, and it enables the chair to travel more than 40km with four litres of methanol.
The chair also features a stable chassis frame, a large arm rest, a round and easy-to-use handle, a comfortable seat and a large LCD.
The chair will be exhibited at the 33rd Home Care & Rehabilitation Exhibition in Tokyo.
