SWECO, the Stockholm-based provider of consulting services, has been awarded a contract provide engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services for the building of a new CHP plant in Hungary.
Under the contract, SWECO is wholly responsible for the engineering and design of the plant. The assignment is being carried out on behalf of the Hungarian paper producer W Hamburger Papirgyarto and will employ 40 consultants from SWECO for one year.
The CHP plant will be built in the city of Dunaújváros in central Hungary, and is scheduled for completion in 2010.
The plant will produce 50MW of electricity and 160 megawatts process steam to the nearby paper and pulp mills.
