TFL sees clearer with COE

Leeds-based COE, a developer and supplier of integrated video surveillance systems, has been selected to supply codecs, a technology for compressing and decompressing data to Transport for London (TfL).

TFL has been carrying out extensive trials of COE’s X-Net MPEG-4 compressed video, which is said to feature high quality video, for several applications including urban traffic light control and traffic police enforcement.

COE’s X-Class codec has been installed in systems including the Singaporean underground network, Strasbourg and Mulhouse city centres and UK wireless city surveillance schemes. It is an open technology that allows third parties to integrate new applications such as video intelligence to already installed codecs.
