Thales tops 400 million Euros

Thales has recently won two key contracts with the Hellenic Navy, bringing the total value of business with the Greek military force to 400 million Euros in 2003.

The first new contract, signed with VT Shipbuilding, is for the delivery of radar and fire control equipment for two Fast Attack Craft (FAC) of the Super Vita ‘Roussen’ Class.

The second new contract, signed with Elefsis Shipbuilding and Industrial Enterprises in Greece, is for the mid-life modernisation of four Combattante III fast attack craft.

As the main subcontractor of Elefsis, Thales will be responsible for the total combat system integration and the delivery of new combat system equipment for the ships. The contract includes an option for the modernisation of a further two Combattantes III in the near future.

Thales was awarded a contract worth over 250 million Euros in February 2003 for the Mid-Life Modernisation Program of the platform and combat system equipment of six Hellenic Navy Elli Class frigates.
