Thales
has signed a multi-million pound agreement to install its TopSeries in-flight entertainment (
) system in
British Airways’ delivery and next-generation aircraft.
Thales IFE system boasts a wide range of films, programmes and podcasts, in addition to larger LCD screens, interactive games and e-learning applications designed to provide passengers with a 'web-like experience' from their seats.
Jamie Cassidy, general manager of British Airways, said: ‘The new Thales IFE system will go way beyond the basics. It is an “everything on demand” system that lets passengers do what they want when they want.’
The system is scheduled for installation in 2010 on new delivery Boeing 777-300ERs, next-generation Airbus A380 aircraft and the Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
