Two universities set to host enterprise research centre

Aston University and Warwick University have been selected to host an enterprise research centre designed to help develop an understanding of the factors affecting business investment, performance and growth.

The £2.9m centre — which will be launched on 1 January 2013 — will reportedly become a national and international focal point for research, knowledge and expertise on small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

A key objective of the facility will be to provide policy makers and SME managers with the evidence they need to make good decisions for growth and development in the UK.

The centre is a collaboration between the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, the British Bankers Association, the Economic and Social Research Council and the Technology Strategy Board.
