Risk-based inspection specialist Tischuk International has launched web-based software which could make risk assessment in the oil and gas industry cheaper and more convenient.
The Aberdeen-based company has developed an online pay-per-use version of its T-REx risk-based inspection software, which can be accessed from the company’s website can be used globally. It saves users up front licensing costs as they only pay when using the tool, a method Tischuk claims is a first for the oil and gas industry.
The approach means Tischuk’s staff can assist or provide audit services online and provide faster and more cost-effective support. Software upgrades on the website occur automatically without any effort required from the users.
T-REx is a modular program with specific failure models for different asset types. The T-REx Pipelines is the first to be launched online. The atmospheric storage tank module will be added to the web site after three weeks and other modules for pressure vessels, process piping, structures and oil and gas wells will follow over the next three months.
Tischuk International has spent about 18 months and approximately £250,000 on developing the web-based tool and upgrading its website.
