Anniversaries of any kind are always a good time to take stock. And with 2016 marking the 160th anniversary of The Engineer, we thought it was time for a bit of a freshen up.
Our editorial remit remains the same: to report on technological innovation across all of the key sectors and to champion UK engineering. And popular regular features like our online polls and classic archive content, as well as the ability to engage in lively debate with your colleagues, will remain at the heart of the site.

But by dispensing with some of the clunky navigation elements of our old online home, generally reducing the clutter, and thinking more carefully about how we present all of our content, we think we’ve created a far more stimulating and enjoyable reader experience. We hope you agree.
